You are in pain...


Suppose you have just moved to a new city, several
hundred miles from your previous home. While at
work one day, you develop a severe abdominal pain
that persists for several hours. Since you do not know
any doctors in the area, you ask other employees for
the name of a good doctor. Your inquiries take you to
the clinic of Dr.Smart. After a few routine tests, he
tells you that his suspicion has been confirmed; it is
your gall bladder, and it must be removed the next
morning .

  When we combine the two answers, it appears that the aspiring
     business professionals are flocking to these management
    schools to receive a business education that can help them
   work at a job in an environment where deception is inevitable
                         in order to succeed.

Students in a business ethics class mailed letters to a number of organizations,
explaining what they were doing and requesting a copy of each organization’s code
of ethics. Let’s have a look at the responses the received...


       Sorry, we can’t send you a copy of our code of
       ethics, because it is confidential.

       We have reviewed your letter and resume, and
       even though it is very impressive, at present we
       don’t have a job that matches your qualification.
       What resume? What Job?
         Many of the codes received were very general and superficial.

Isn’t it time to
restore business

Think about the people that you respect and trust...


    They do what they say they will do.

    They deliver what they promise, and if they can’t
    you are soon informed.

    They monitor their say/do ratio very carefully.

    For such people ‘the check in the mail’ is not a
    joke.

Business Ethics
Better late than never...

     The integrity, reputation and profitability of an
     organization depend upon the individual
     actions of its employees. Establishing a code
     of ethics won’t convert the corrupt into the
     virtuous, but it will give individuals access to a
     body of knowledge and create a climate in
     which the organization and its employees are
     better able to make informed and ethical
     judgments.

  • 12. Students in a business ethics class mailed letters to a number of organizations, explaining what they were doing and requesting a copy of each organization’s code of ethics. Let’s have a look at the responses the received... Sorry, we can’t send you a copy of our code of ethics, because it is confidential. We have reviewed your letter and resume, and even though it is very impressive, at present we don’t have a job that matches your qualification. What resume? What Job? Establishing a code of ethics won’t convert the corrupt into the virtuous, but it will give individuals access to a body of knowledge and create a climate in which the organization and its employees are better able to make informed and ethical judgments.
